Subject Summary

Located in our brand new Early Childhood Center at 251 Bishops Highway in Kingston, MA, Sacred Heart Kindergarten Kindergarten students listen to story read by Sr. Angelais part of the Elementary School, which is also part of a larger co-educational(K-12) school complex operated by the Sisters of Divine Providence. Sacred Heart is a Christian community organized to foster the spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each child. This is accomplished in the spirit of dedication, freedom, and love that is rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Kindergarten students using the computer

Sacred Heart Elementary School K-6 is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Recognizing each child's unique giftedness and differences in interests, experiences, abilities, and rate of growth, we presentStudents hard at work on their papers to them many varied and multi-leveled opportunities for learning.


 


Entrance Requirements

A child entering Sacred Heart Kindergarten must be five years of age by August 31st. A copy of the child's birth and/or baptismal certificate, a health record, pre-school assessments (if applicable), and the Classwork for kindergarten studentsregistration form and fee are required at the time of registration. Children entering kindergarten must also be immunized in compliance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements before October of the kindergarten year. A kindergarten screening will be scheduled for the child before formal acceptance is given.Students working on coloring project

 


Curriculum
Concepts and skills are introduced which are appropriate to each child's stage of development. These concepts reinforce the cognitive and developmental skills needed for the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of A special papier mache project in art!each child. Taking into consideration each child's learning style, readiness skills are taught using various teaching techniques and providing hands-on activities as well as visual and auditory experiences. Seasonal celebrations including our religious and civic holidays and other multicultural events take place within the scope of the school year calendar. The general curriculum includes readiness skills in the areas of Religion, Language ArtsKindergarten students love climbing on the "jungle gym"! (which includes Phonetics, Reading, Writing, and Spelling), Math, Social Studies and Science. Children are engaged in small and large group activities, and attention is given to the development of fine and gross motor skills.

Tuition
The annual tuition fee is paid in five increments during the school year.
