Sacred Heart Elementary School maintains accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). We were recently granted continued accreditation by the NEASC, upon completion of our self-study and the evaluation visit by the Commission on Independent Schools.   More information.

With a total enrollment of 460 students in grades kindergarten through six, Sacred Heart Elementary is able to offer small class sizes, ranging from 20 to 25 students in each class. The ideal class sizes promote quality, individualized instruction and learning.Third grade students on the climbing volcano There are 3 classes for each grade, as well as classroom space for art and music rooms, a computer science room, library, and a gymnasium for physical education. A well designed and newly constructed state-of-the-art playground, as well as soccer fields, are available for outdoor activities.


Curriculum
Student success in learning is contingent upon multiple factors that include, but are not limited to: Students check out books in the school library.challenge, continuity in skill building, diversity of approach, and balance. Challenge is the encouragement to go beyond one’s perceived capabilities. Continuity in skill building is defined by using sequentially developed and reinforced programs in religion, language arts, math, science and social studies. A diversity of approach is achieved through the interweaving of contemporary and traditionalFifth grade class at Sacred Heart methodologies in an effort to meet individual needs. These include basic skill mastery, large and small group instruction, hands-on activities, cooperative learning groups, and the use of technology to remediate, reinforce, and challenge. Creative, critical and logical thinking, writing and problem solving are continually encouraged. An automated library, computer and science labs are available to students. Art, music, physical education and spiritual First grade teacher and student.development serve to balance a holistic educational design.

Student Assessment
Report cards are distributed three times yearly. Progress Reports and Warning Notices are distributed midway through each marking period. Student grades are based on class participation, group interaction, independent class work, homework and testing. Standardized testing is conducted annually in Grades 1-6 to assess skillFourth grade class at Sacred Heart mastery.

8:00 AM – 2:35 PM

Transportation
Parents may provide their own transportation or carpool.
Bus transportation is also available for a fee.Busses ready for dismissal.

Sacred Heart Elementary School is owned and operated by the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence, who serve in a governance role as the Board of Directors for the School.  The Principal of the School, Sr. Ann Therese Connolly, CDP, is responsible for the overall administration, management and operations of Sacred Heart Elementary School.  Sr. Lydia Steele, CDP, as the Financial Administrator and Facilities Manager, is responsible for the business administration of the school as well as the physical plant and grounds.
